Playing Immortal Barons

Immortal Barons is a strategy game. You rule an empire in a broken world. You build an economy, raise an army, and compete with other rulers. You play a set number of turns each day.

The player guide is the in-game help

The guide lives inside the game as categorized help. Open it from the Game Menu (Help Database), or press ? at a menu. It is organized by category:

• Controls — moving through the menus, entering numbers
• Military — units and their roles
• Economy — regions, food, banking
• Warfare — attacks, covert operations, pirates
• Diplomacy — treaties and alliances
• Inter-BBS — leagues and group attacks

The same content is the single source for a web guide too. It lives as Markdown under internal/help/content/<category>/, and is translated with po4a (see docs/superpowers/specs/2026-07-03-docs-help-localization-design.md). Edit the topic files there; the in-game help and the web guide both come from them.
