Regions¶
Land is made of regions. You buy regions from a market, and the price rises as you buy more. There are eight region types, each with a different job.
Coastal¶
Best for tourism income. In good times it makes the most gold. But with low public support, your people lose interest and tourism drops sharply.
Mountain¶
Mines natural resources. Income is lower on average, but steady — few things change it. Mountains also boost how much your Industrial regions produce.
Desert¶
Good for solar power. Income swings with conditions, but on average it beats mountains and trails good Coastal land.
River¶
Provides a steady river income.
Agricultural¶
Grows food. This is your main source of food if you are not buying it.
Urban¶
Home to your people. More urban regions means more people can live in your empire.
Industrial¶
Builds military each turn. In some games this is your only way to get new units. A good base of Mountain regions makes your industry produce more.
Technology¶
Raises your efficiency. A larger share of Technology regions boosts your income and your army and lowers some upkeep. Bigger empires need more Technology to get the same benefit.
