Turns and Protection

You get a set number of turns each day. When you use them all, come back the next day for more.

The day turns at midnight on the computer that runs the game. That is not always midnight where you are, so the entry menu shows the game's own time and how long is left of the day.

Each time shown on screen names its clock. Times start out in UTC, which every planet in a league agrees on, and Preferences will show them on another clock instead: this board's own, or a time zone you pick from a list. The countdown to the new day is the same length of time whichever you choose.

New players get New Realm Protection: a number of turns during which you cannot attack or be attacked. It only ticks down on turns you actually play, so you are safe while you learn the game.

A realm still under protection shows its letter in square brackets in the lists of realms — [C], where every other realm shows (C) — so you can see who cannot be attacked yet.
