Technology Regions

Technology regions make your whole empire more efficient. The bonus is not instant: it builds up slowly the longer you hold Technology regions, and it builds faster when they are a larger share of your land. Bigger empires need more Technology regions to reach the same level.

Technology helps in several ways:

• Your army fights harder.
• Your income goes up, including tax income.
• Your food regions grow more food.
• Your upkeep goes down, on both your units and your regions.
• Less of your stored food spoils.

Technology regions produce no gold by themselves. Their worth is the boost they give to everything else. They can be costly to keep at first, but over a long game they pay off.
