Jets

Jets are an attack-only aircraft. They have an offense of 2 and a defense of 0, so they add nothing to your defense. One jet is about twice as strong on attack as a trooper.

Jets are cheap to buy but expensive to keep, so do not buy more than you will use.

Jets cannot reach a battle on their own. You need carriers to carry them, and one carrier moves up to 100 jets. Without enough carriers, your jets cannot join the attack.

Because that is easy to forget, an order of more than 100 jets asks whether to include the carriers to lift them. Say yes and the same gold buys both, so you end up with fewer jets than you asked for and every one of them able to fly.

An enemy SDI shield lowers your jets' attacking strength, but only when you are striking a named baron on another planet — a shield does nothing against jets attacking on its own planet.

Jets are lost in battle like any other unit. Enemy turrets are part of the defence your attack has to beat; they do not single out your jets.
